WCM-P60IV
Our 4th-generation intensifier pump, and the pump most VICHOR machines ship with.
§01 / Pressure
Continuous pressure, not just peak
Maximum operating pressure ratings look alike across the industry; the pressure a pump holds hour after hour is where pumps differ. The WCM-P60IV holds 380–400 MPa (55,000–58,000 psi) continuously, with a 430 MPa (62,000 psi) peak. We publish both numbers side by side.
Where the 30% comes from
We cut 50 mm carbon steel with the same 0.33 mm orifice on two pumps: the WCM-P60III at an operating pressure of 350 MPa, and the WCM-P60IV at 400 MPa. The P60IV cut about 30% faster.
That gain does not come from pressure alone. Compared with the P60III, the P60IV runs at a higher continuous operating pressure, its maximum water flow rises from 3.7 to 4.25 L/min, and its attenuator grows from 1.2 L to 2.15 L. A new bladder accumulator holds the hydraulic pressure steady, which keeps the output pressure steadier. Add the refinements we have made with each generation of the pump, and together they produce that 30%.
How much faster your own parts will cut depends on material, thickness and abrasive flow rate. Send us a drawing and we will tell you the cutting time for your parts.

§02 / Inside
Inside the intensifier
US intensifier core components — UHP cylinder, hydraulic cylinder, end cap and end nut — carry a 5-year warranty, beyond the 2-year machine warranty.

End nut ×2
The hydraulic side uses a Bosch Rexroth hydraulic pump, a YUKEN directional control valve and a new bladder accumulator that holds the hydraulic pressure steady. A 2.15 L attenuator on the high-pressure water side smooths the pressure dip at each intensifier reversal, which keeps the jet steady at the cutting head. The main motor is from Innomotics, and the low/high-pressure switching runs on a Siemens PLC.

§03 / Maintenance
What wears, and what doesn't
VICHOR waterjet parts fall into three groups, based on whether they come into contact with UHP water:
- Standard components that do not come into contact with UHP water are covered by the machine warranty: 24 months or 4,000 hours.
- The US intensifier core components are covered for 5 years.
- The remaining UHP consumables — orifices, mixing tubes, UHP seals, UHP check valves, UHP tube and others — wear in normal use, need to be replaced on schedule and are excluded from the warranty.

§05 / Pump family
Which pump in the family
The WCM-P60IV is the default choice for most shops. If one pump stopping for seal service would stop your production, see the WCM-P60IVB with a standby intensifier. If electricity cost is your main concern, see the servo-driven WCM-S60IV. For carbon steel over 150 mm, see the WCM-P90III.
§06 / FAQ
What is the difference between maximum and continuous pressure?
Maximum pressure is the highest the pump can reach; continuous pressure is what it holds through a working shift. Cutting speed follows continuous pressure. The WCM-P60IV holds 380–400 MPa and peaks at 430 MPa.
How much faster is it than the WCM-P60III?
About 30%, measured on 50 mm carbon steel with a 0.33 mm orifice (400 MPa vs 350 MPa).
Which parts are covered for five years?
UHP cylinder, hydraulic cylinder, end cap and end nut inside the intensifier.
Are seals covered by warranty?
No. High-pressure seals and U-cups are consumables on any intensifier pump.
What power supply does it need?
37 kW (50 HP) nameplate, 380 V / 50 Hz three-phase as standard; other voltages on request.
